Chief Engineer

MISSION

We are seeking a Chief Engineer for the Novotel Rotorua Lakeside and ibis Rotorua Lakeside it is a dual branded complex hotel with 344 rooms located in central Rotorua.

We are seeking a strong leader with previous maintenance or trade background experience.

You will be responsible for ensuring that our property presents and functions like a well oiled machine.

You will work closely with all departments in the hotel, including Housekeeping and Front Office to manage issues at hand.

PERSONALITY AND SKILLS

•Passion for giving an unforgettable guest experience

•Happy, friendly and helpful attitude towards fellow team members and guests

•Enthusiasm and commitment to deliver exceptional service

•Ability to multitask with a can-do attitude

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•Hands on and supportive work style

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

- 2 yrs Experience in the Maintenance Field

- Trade qualification preferred

- Management Level Experience

- Staff Training & Management

- Knowledge of Procedures & Systems   used in Hotels  that ensure High  Maintenance Standards

-Knowledge of local government building codes and regulations;

-Ensure HR Practices, Recruitment & Training of Facilities Staff are up to standard

- Understanding of Emergency Situations and Evacuation Processes

- Excellent Communication & Customer Service Skills

-Ensue OHS Procedures are Maintained

-Ability to manage daily contactors and projects
