Based at our Albany manufacturing site, the successful applicant will be part of a multi-disciplined team managing and developing a wide range of hardware products. Projects will be a mix of designing and launching market leading new products as well as range extensions and upgrades to existing products.
If you have over five years’ experience as an industrial or mechanical designer and can showcase your proven technical excellence, ability to push design boundaries, problem solve and work with a team to create exceptional designs then this could be the role for you. Knowledge and use of lean product development principles, product design in metal castings, sheetmetal and plastic componentry is advantageous. A proven ability to successfully project manage the product design cycle from brief to product launch will be essential. On the practical side, applicants should be able to create designs using SolidWorks, construct prototypes and test to required specifications.
You will also be experienced navigating ERP systems, developing costings, setting up and maintaining BOMs and ensuring project and product documentation is up to date and accurate. Excellent communication skills are essential not only when working closely with our customers, but also as you work with engineers and team members based in China.
The product development team is well supported with an onsite certified testing facility and team, prototyping resources, tooling engineers and manufacturing facilities.
