The opportunity

With an impressive product range and part of a global group of companies, our Mount Maunganui based client has a reputation for quality. They are backed with world class production facilities with a large global R&D and Technical Sales Teams – providing unrivalled technical expertise in a specialist market sector.

This is a rare opportunity to work in a highly dynamic supplier into the food sector where you will be contributing to engineering and project managing process solutions, extending to process design engineering and plant build and commissioning.

The role

The remit is broad, but one thing for certain is that you have a good balance between analysis and rolling your sleeves up with a hands-on approach to ensure plant operations are successful. Process improvement to increase productivity, facilitate root cause analysis, review asset performance data activities to improve food safety and H&S outcomes will also feature in your job description.

Varied and exciting, some of your responsibilities will include:
  • Investigate, assess and establish opportunities to improve process performance through capital works, process optimization and automation.
  • Develop and maintain a formalised documented project management process
  • Ensure process and equipment documentation is kept up to date
  • Maintain and enforce engineering standards for mechanical, electrical, automation and civil works
  • Management and implementation of, or participation in, engineering, production, product development and sales projects as required.
Skills and experience

You will be a collaborative Project Engineer, with 3-5 years industry experience, ideally in a liquid manufacturing environment and you will hold a suitable tertiary qualification with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will have demonstrated project management skills, process design experience, a good understanding of leading-edge factory automation and a sound understanding of manufacturing processes.  You will have experience in the food industry (or closely related industry), with packing technologies experience an advantage.

You have plenty of initiative and drive. You are credible and capable of managing budgets and projects in a structured way. You are a ‘clever’ engineer – able to come up with a host of options to solve problems during project identification, preparation and execution, then able to articulate your ideas with authority and clarity. This is an opportunity to become part of a fantastic team of highly motivated professionals.

Benefits

Combine a lifestyle location with a challenging role where you can work on a variety of projects with blue chip clients within the Asia Pacific region. You will be rewarded with a remuneration package, continuing professional development and excellent prospects to endorse your position within a progressive, forward thinking company.
