Fire and Emergency New Zealand is a Crown Entity established on 1 July 2017 under the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Act 2017. The role of our new organisation is to reduce unwanted fires, respond to structural and vegetation fires and other emergencies including motor vehicle crashes, medical emergencies, hazardous substance related incidents, natural disasters and support increased community resilience. Our new, unified organisation provides a fire and emergency service that delivers for communities, and the firefighters who serve them, now and in the future. Volunteers now make up over 80% of our personnel.

About the role

We are looking for a marketing advisor to join our team in our National Headquarters, to cover a period of parental leave. We are looking for someone to start at the end of October and to finish when the person you will be covering for will return, which is approx. June 2020.

The role is multi-dimensional, varied and really does require someone who can switch between tasks as projects develop and needs arise. Not only will you be involved with brand development and marketing operations you will also be heavily involved with strategy development, delivery of new innovation and campaign launches across the country. We are looking for someone who can do magic with internal and external relationships, has an eye for detail and the big picture!

About you

Are you a strong influencer, positive and self-motivated person? Do you have a passion for being a part of a dynamic team? Your communication skills obviously need to be second to none, work great within a team or by yourself, be a solution focused person in all aspects of your work, be ready to roll up your selves and get stuck in!

What you will bring:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in marketing
  • Experience running multiple complex marketing campaigns in parallel
  • Strong experience and understanding of current and innovative marketing and brand approaches
  • Proven experience working with agency partners
