About the business


Index Engineering is an award-winning consulting mechanical engineering practice, based in Rotorua's CBD. We provide our clients with solutions to industrial problems, from the initial stages of problem identification through to mechanical design, project and construction management, and commissioning. In addition, Index Engineering is a Design Verification Inspection body providing verification services across NZ and to overseas clients.

About the role


Our business has experienced consistent growth over the last 10 years, and this new role is being created for a person to work alongside our Senior Designer. The day-to-day work involves the modelling of complex pipework and tanks, as well as mechanical layout and details. Travel to client sites in order to take accurate measurements is a part of the job. Enjoy interesting and varied work due to the wide range of projects that Index Engineering works on.

Skills and experience


The ideal candidate would be either a junior draftsperson who has a previous hands-on engineering background as a welder, fitter & turner or fabricator, or a draftsperson with at least 5 years experience in mechanical engineering. Familiarity with Solidworks is essential.
