Ngati Kahu Social and Health Services is looking for someone who has a passion for making change and supporting Young people to reach their full potential.

Our role is to build up their self-confidence, their independence and overcome barriers in order to be better contributors to their whanau and their community.  We are using a wellbeing approach to make this change for those 18 – 24 year olds who are on a job seekers benefit.

Our programme asks our young People “Ko Wai Au?”and looks to re connect people to their whanau, Hapu and Iwi in the hope that if they learn about who they are and where they come from they will become more resilient and become more open to change.

The right person for the role would be someone who:

is patient, reliable and is comfortable facilitating groups for   young people within a therapeutic environment using  Tikanga , Cultural Connections

Has experience in Youth Development / Youth Mentoring / Group Facilitation        

Has a professional background in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology , Addictions    

Is registered with a professional body or working towards    

Has a good understanding around building therapeutic environments in order to create change          

The position at this stage is fixed term from January 2020 – end of September 2020 with the possibility of rolling over. The role is full time 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday with our programme running between the hours of 9am and 3pm.

 We offer a competitive market salary and may be able to offer support for relocation costs for the right person.
