Every week across New Zealand, SCOUTS New Zealand delivers exciting and adventurous programmes to 15,000 youth members through the passion and dedication of approximately 5,000 adult volunteers. SCOUTS are committed to growth, quality and making a difference in the lives of young people. They are now looking for an exceptional person to take on the Administrator position.


Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for completing a broad range of administrative and operational duties to support the national functions and volunteers across NZ, which will include:

  • Processing membership applications
  • Providing basic IT support to volunteers including password resets and troubleshooting of organisations digital platforms
  • Supporting the administration of the national awards including attending and overseeing national award ceremonies
  • Providing administrative support to aid in the delivery of training, workshops, conferences and other meetings as required
  • Maintaining databases ensuring information is relevant and up to date
  • Providing general support to volunteers via emails and phone calls
  • Booking flights, accommodation and travel arrangements for volunteers and staff
  • Carry out any other general administration duties as required

 

This is a permanent full-time position based in National office in Kaiwharawhara, Wellington. The hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday within a flexible working environment.

You enjoy building strong relationships and strive on leaving the volunteers that you are interacting with feel valued and supported.  


Person Profile:

  • Proven administration experience in a similar role
  • Strong relationship building capabilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Well organised with high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong customer service ethos
  • A friendly, helpful and professional disposition
  • An empathy with the not-for-profit/voluntary and community sectors
  • Proficient using MS Office Suite, Google Suite and CRM databases
  • Willingness and ability to learn
  • Highly motivated and work with minimal supervision
