Northpower is seeking a store person with a strong customer service focus and the ability to work under pressure to assist in the day-to-day operation of their store based in Tauranga.

The role

Our client is seeking a reliable, highly motivated and customer-focussed Store person to support their busy store operations in Tauranga. The role is suited to someone who can work calmly under pressure, who is able to think on their feet and can deliver excellent customer service even during peak business hours.

Reporting to the Regional Stores Manager your typical duties include but are not limited to monitoring, issuing and maintaining accurate stock, creating and issuing purchase orders, receipting stock, documenting stock movement and completing regular cycle counts. You will also issue and dispatch stock and non-stock materials to meet customer requirements.

A positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills will be important for success in this role along with good health and safety awareness. If you are a team player with a 'can do' attitude, a clean New Zealand driver's and forklift licence as well as enjoying a variety of both inside and outside work then we would like to hear from you.

Duties:

  • Receive, store, and issue stock to customers
  • Create and issue purchase orders
  • Delivery of stock to work sites and depots as required
  • Operate forklift
  • Rotate stock appropriately and complete regular cycle/full stock counts
  • Document and process stock movement
  • Timely and accurate completion of all documents and data input related to inwards and outwards materials movements
  • Compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements
  • Adherence to best practices

Skills and experience:

  • Full New Zealand class 1 driver's licence
  • Current forklift licence
  • Ideally two years' plus experience in a fast-moving warehouse/stores/logistics environment
  • Electrical Industry experience is advantageous
  • Good computer literacy, experience in JDE desirable but training will be given
  • Excellent and uncompromised history of attitude towards safety
  • Ability to cope with the physical demands of the role
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
