Core Logging Geologist

  • Entry level Geology role
  • Rostered shift nine days on, five days off
  • Great location, close to the beaches of the Coromandel

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated entry level Geologist to join our Geology and Exploration team. You will be responsible for undertaking geological logging for both exploration and underground resource and grade control drilling.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Undertake logging of exploration and grade control drill core
  • Supervision of core shed technicians during the sampling process
  • Administrative support for core loggers including supervision of sample dispatches; support and maintenance of logging systems
  • Data entry of geological data including dispatch logs and geological logs

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Ideally a minimum of one year's post-graduate experience preferred
  • A tertiary qualification - minimum B Sc. Geology
  • Sound technical skills in Geology
  • Strong computer skills and computer literacy

A full, clean and current driving licence is essential, as is confidence driving a manual vehicle. You must be able to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing.
