Premier Institute of Education is currently looking for an Administrative Assistant. This position will play an integral role in customer service and the organisational strength of our company. The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support, accurately record, maintain and produce reports from our Student Management System. In addition to this they will also need to facilitate venues and meetings as well as greet and direct visitors and respond to various forms of correspondence. 

Candidates will have strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to multi-task and a friendly disposition!

The primary objectives of this role are, but not limited to the following…

  • Accurately enter, record and monitor data into the Student Management System

  • Assist with professional learning for small groups

  • Assist students, employees, and clients with appointments / interviews

  • Create and provide correspondence as required

  • Provide customer service by answering telephone calls, greeting visitors and providing programme information

  • Coordinate external trades for general site maintenance

  • Facilitate venues / meeting and graduations when required


  • Minimum NCEA level 2 or the equivalent and two years of general office experience or an equivalent combination of education and general office experience is required.

Desired Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Keyboarding skills and a strong knowledge of Google Docs and Sheets is required. 

  • A working knowledge of, or the ability to learn and use academic applications for tracking student process. 

  • Able to complete complex administrative tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Customer-service orientated

  • The ability to operate and troubleshoot electronic office equipment, computers, and peripherals, maintain a well organised work environment is required.
