Social Worker

Our Family Support Team has an opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to work with patients and family/whanau.

About Us

Waipuna Hospice is the sole provider of specialist community palliative care in the rapidly growing Western Bay of Plenty and as well as having an established inpatient unit we support a large community team 


The role

This is a varied and challenging role and involves working within an interdisciplinary team to provide high quality Social Work services within Day Services, Hospice at Home and IPU where allocated community patients with complex needs are current inpatients.

This role may suit one full time employee or two-part time social worker’s dependent on the availability of the successful applicant/applicants. You will have the ability to work additional hours based on the needs of the business, and to provide cover for the other Social Workers. 


About You

Applicants will require a minimum of 3 years Social Work experience and a professional Social Work qualification and Social Work registration completed or in progress.  Preference will be given to applicants with experience in an interdisciplinary and health care environment.  Other essential attributes include excellent communication skills and demonstrated cultural competence.

A current drivers licence essential.
