Air Quality Implementation Officer

2 Year Fixed Term, Full-time position

At Environment Canterbury, we believe everyone has the right to breathe clean healthy air and have access to a warm home. We are making significant progress and need to focus in this area for a bit longer, so we’re looking for an Air Quality Implementation Officer who can help our team and our communities achieve this.

You will work closely with property owners, community groups and agencies to provide advice, support project delivery and implement approaches for supporting behaviour change to have better air quality outcomes.  This role entails a mix of community and office-based activities.

As the successful applicant you will:

  • Have a relevant tertiary qualification, for example in planning, policy, environmental management or social work;
  • Be agile in work approach and have proven ability to pick up technical information quickly and communicate that to others in appropriate ways;
  • Have an understanding of the needs and approaches relating to implementing work programmes to support behaviour change and strong focus on customer service;
  • Have experience in working with planning documents, guidelines and national frameworks relating to the management of natural resources;
  • Have a proven ability to build rapport, develop, and maintain excellent working relationships across a diverse range of people both with organisations and in the community;
  • Have a strong level of computer and mobile device literacy.
