MAHITAHI HAUORA

Youth Health Support Coordinator

Part-time (0.8FTE)

Are you passionate about young people receiving;

  • better access to health services
  • more support in schools and communities

 to reduce social impacts and enable them to have the tools to self-manage their wellbeing?

Mahitahi Hauora is a newly formed primary health entity established to transform how primary healthcare is delivered in Northland.  Our vision is to support a primary health care system that sustains equitable self-determined wellbeing and ensures every person in Northland can live a long and healthy life.

Mahitahi Hauora’s Youth Health Support Coordinator role will contribute to the development and support of youth services in schools and communities throughout Northland.  A key component of this role is to help young people access health services particularly in the transition from school to primary health care services in community.   This is both an interactive and administrative role encompassing coordination of youth services, facilitation of meetings, training in MedTech Evolution healthcare program and supporting providers in the management of youth clinics in both our schools and hubs in Northland.

Ideally, you will have experience in primary or secondary healthcare environments and an excellent understanding of;

  • young people
  • Northland’s secondary school environment and the
  • the status of youth health in Te Taitokerau

This role would also suit a relationship driven person determined to make a difference, with the ability to work autonomously while also being an integral part of the team.

The role requires someone with:

  • The ability to develop strong relationships with other health professionals and clinicians in primary care
  • Experience in setting and facilitation of meetings
  • Experience in training others in a software platform (preferably Medtech)
  • High level of IT competency including MS suite
  • Excellence in verbal and written communications, including reporting writing
  • Excellent general administration and coordination skills that can be applied to a healthcare setting
  • A commitment to improving our youth health services in schools and the community

    A detailed position description can be downloaded from our website;

    www.mahitahihauora.co.nz/vacancies

    You must have an unencumbered NZ Driver Licence and the legal right to work in NZ.

    If you have the above skills and are committed to supporting the development of youth health services, then please apply by forwarding your covering letter and CV to Joanne Mason, HR People First Organisation Assistant, at hr@mahitahihauora.co.nz

PLEASE NOTE.  Do not apply directly through the SEEK webwsite, apply as per instructions for advertisement.  Thank you
