Mitre 10 NZ Ltd needs no introduction as a proudly New Zealand owned and operated business – you see us in almost every town in NZ. Mitre 10 Mega Wanaka, a large independently owned company working with our national support centre, are seeking to appoint a Chartered Accountant to join our successful team.

This new position, reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager and in conjunction with the CFO, will be responsible for preparing, analysing, reporting and auditing key financial information to assist and enable our wider management team to make well-informed decisions ensuring the ongoing growth and profitability of the company.

This role requires an individual who is both a team player and possesses excellent analytical and communication skills. They will have functional responsibility for all relevant tasks which will include:

  • Preparation of financial statements and accounts

  • Monitoring spending

  • Costing and budgeting, analysing the company’s financial performance

  • Forecasting and planning

  • Analysis and recommendations to manage costs

  • Internal audits

  • Maintenance of the general ledger and ensuring the taxation liabilities of the company are met

As part of the finance team you will provide consultancy and support in ensuring the effective execution of the company business plan. To be successful in attaining this position you will also have:

  • A minimum of 5 years accounting experience

  • A solid understanding of general business principles

  • Credentialed accounting knowledge backed up with significant practical experience

  • Ability to work both autonomously or as part of the wider team

  • Ability to multi task keeping a detailed focus Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, Access and Xero would be an advantage
