Assistant Accountant – Management

This is an interesting and varied position within the North Shore-based Support Centre, which will have you focused on providing timely and accurate management accounting, planning and analytical services, and advice to a range of mainly internal cost centre managers.

Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, you will be involved in:

  • Providing budgeting and forecasting support, monitoring and reporting services, along with analysis;
  • Liaising with cost centre managers regarding variance analysis, processes, budgeting and forecasting;
  • Cashbook management and reconciliations including the loyalty and gift card programmes;
  • Oversee and provide support for credit card processing and reconciliations, processing petty cash and foreign currency for overseas staff travel;
  • GL Maintenance;
  • Completing transactional tasks such as posting journals and accruals associated with month end and year end accounts; and
  • Creating and maintaining reports using TM1.

To be able to step into this new role, we are looking for someone with the relevant qualifications, along with financial accounting experience within a large commercial environment, excellent MS Excel skills and ideally experience using TM1.  An understanding of New Zealand financial and corporate reporting, accounts preparation and tax will be expected.  Most importantly, you will be keen to learn and develop – be prepared to take on new things, have initiative, fabulous attention to detail/accuracy and be a great team player.
