Assistant Director Engagement, Analysis and Reporting

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and motivated person to join our team. The Assistant Director will lead our Engagement, Analysis and Reporting Group within the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS). This is a one year fixed-term or secondment opportunity (with the possibility of a second year).

In this role you will be responsible for implementing strategy and change, developing business planning and reporting, managing key partnerships, and providing governance to the Combined Threat Assessment Group. This is a Tier 3 leadership role and plays a significant part in working with the leadership team to establish organisational and Intelligence Directorate strategy and business plans.

As an experienced leader, you will draw upon your solid experience building and maintaining highly performing teams, and will have:

  • Experience managing intelligence/operations in a multi-agency environment
  • Experience operating at the strategic level, including planning and operational risk management and guidance
  • The ability to contribute to organisational strategy, policy and capability projects
  • Strong customer focus and relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with domestic and international stakeholders
  • Sound judgement and critical thinking ability

Key to your success in this role will be your high energy, drive and motivation to deliver timely results. While this is an established team, there’s definite scope for development and enhancement.

We work in a unique environment where no two days are the same. Our team is dedicated, motivated and passionate about what we do. We offer a range of benefits including professional development opportunities, an active social club and on-site gym and fitness facilities.

If this fixed-term leadership role sounds like you and you’re looking for work with a purpose at the heart of New Zealand’s national security, we would like to hear from you.
