Stormwater Wastewater Graduate Engineer

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to assist in the efficient management of the Council’s monitoring, inspection and operation of stormwater and wastewater services.

This entry-level permanent full time position is most suited for an applicant who has a keen interest in Water Engineering. Our team will provide training, practical experience and educational opportunities to learn about civil engineering delivering high quality outcomes to our community.

To be successful in this role you will need

  • An appropriate engineering degree
  • A love for the environment and customer service
  • A self-starter and proactive problem solver
  • Great on computers
  • An appreciation of the water cycle and it's challenges
  • Water/wastewater reticulation certificate (desirable)
  • Independently Qualified Person (IQP) for Backflow Prevention certificate (desirable)
  • Operational experience in storm water / wastewater activities
  • Experience in a local government environment (desirable)
  • Sound interpretative, analytical and problem solving skills with ability to provide acceptable solutions and options for the storm/waste water activity.
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level interpersonal skills.
  • A current nz drivers licence.
