Maintenance Fitter/Boiler Operator - Day Shift

Hornby, Christchurch

Day Shift - four days a week: Sunday to Wednesday 6am - 4.30pm

Oji Fibre Solutions is one of New Zealand's leading manufacturers and suppliers of packaging solutions to a wide range of industries throughout the country. Our customers include blue chip manufacturers and marketers of packaging products to the food, primary produce, industrial and grocery sectors.

Seeking a qualified Maintenance Fitter/Boiler Operator with proven industrial experience! Join our highly experienced team, working in our busy manufacturing plant based in Hornby, Christchurch. A focus on scheduled preventative maintenance, breakdowns and project work will keep you busy, while ensuring timely repairs to our plant and equipment, to keep production downtime to a minimum.

We need a person who is high energy, with a 'can do' attitude to join our team. If you work with a sense of urgency and have an enquiring mind, then these are attributes that will be greatly valued along with your solid maintenance engineering skills. In addition, a flexible attitude towards working overtime during the peak season or when required.

You need the following:

  • A minimum of Trade Cert in Fitting and Turning, or Fitting and Welding or equivalent Qualification plus ideally a Boiler Operating Certificate
  • Preventative maintenance exposure and experience
  • Ability to understand and complete work on range of precision manufacturing machinery from multiple suppliers worldwide.
  • Computer skills (including CMMS experience)
  • Experience installing new machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret Mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings
  • Work to a high degree of precision and attention to detail
  • Work within a busy plant, ensuring delivery of scheduled and planned maintenance outside normal shift hours, ensuring maximum up time / production capability to the plant with minimal stoppages
  • Solid grounding in Bearing fitting, pneumatics, hydraulic systems and general engineering practises
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing and 5s in the working environment
  • Commitment to health and safety (on and offsite) will be considered as a basic attribute
