Site Manager - Site Supervisor

The Power Grids business offers power and automation products, systems, service and software solutions across the generation, transmission and distribution value chain.

We have a opportunity for a Site Supervisor to join our team. Our projects are diverse, and we are looking for someone who thrives on the day to day challenges of being on site, supporting our teams and the Project Manager.

You will be responsible for all on-site activities ensuring that project deliverable's are met in accordance with the contract specifications, quality & safety standards, all within a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have previous Site Supervisor experience alternatively a Field Service Engineer/Technician with strong leadership potential.

Your responsibilities

  • Plan “on-site activities”, including resources, equipment, materials, etc.

  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, ABB team, customer’s and external resources to optimize our plan/methodology.

  • Ensure project deliverables are achieved in most effective way

  • Ensure correct handling, storage and installation of materials/equipment, coordinating on-site storage as well as shipment logistics to secure timely site delivery of equipment and material.

  • Manage sub-contractors and ABB staff to ensure the work is completed safely, in a timely manner to the required standards.

  • Manage project costs for site work, through the monitoring of actual spend against budgets and forecasts.

  • Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues, and the business

Your background

  • Our projects are based across New Zealand, regular local travel will be required.

  • NZ Electrical License or similar industry standard is essential.

  • A minimum standard of on-site project work including MV-HV switchgear, circuit breaker refurbishment, transformers,installations & upgrades is required.

  • Demonstrated leadership capability is essential.
