Events Assistant/Client Liaison

About the Company

Our New Zealand owned and operated client puts it's name to some of the largest sporting and recreational events on NZ shores. It's IT savvy solutions and customer-centric approach has earnt it an excellent reputation for strong event delivery. It's Dunedin HQ hosts IT and customer service teams, as well as event and operation managers.

About the Role

Our client requires someone with plenty of energy and a desire to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. There is a lot to learn early on and it won't stop there. In just a short space of time you will be charged with representing the company to clients and ensuring smooth delivery of event services.

You'll be replacing an incumbent who has been in the role for just over three years, now off to do an OE. They came in as a grad and are now leaving an event manager with an abundance of opportunity in the industry. Roles offering this level of commercial exposure in Dunedin don't come along often so if you are looking to kickstart your event management career, please do get in touch.

Duties

  • Assisting with event builds and ticketing set up for new events
  • Using internal IT systems to enter operational data/details
  • Acting as primary client liaison and problem solving for clients
  • Attend South Island events - some travel required
  • Cover the inbound customer service desk when required

Skills and Experience

  • ESSENTIAL : A can-do attitude, excellent social/communication skills
  • Events related qualification or relevant industry experience preffered
  • IT savvy and systems literacy is a must
  • Ability to travel and work weekend days for events when required
  • Must be able to provide excellent references from previous managers
