Environmental Science Technician (Part-time)

Do you want to play a role in Council’s Environmental Science and Monitoring Group? Council is looking for an Environmental Science Technician to assist with the management, analysis and dissemination of environmental data. This role will also assist in the expansion of digital spatial layers and the administration of the Tui-to-town database.

This 30 hour part time role requires someone that has a keen interest in the natural environment and environmental science related matters. This role also requires a team player with strong administrative and project management skills. 

We are looking for someone with the following qualifications or attributes:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant science discipline.
  • Previous work experience in an environmental science field would be preferred.
  • A high degree of computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of GIS applications and geospatial data processing tools.
  • An eye for detail and able to maintain a high level of accuracy.
