Atlas Professionals, New Plymouth provides manning services for BW Offshore Ltd (Bergesen Worldwide Ltd) on their Floating Production Storage & Offloading Vessel (FPSO) Umuroa , offshore New Plymouth, in the Tui Oilfield. We are seeking applications to join the FPSO Umuroa team as a Control Room /Production Operator

Key Responsibilities are

  • Operate and monitor safety control systems
  • Operate, monitor and troubleshoot subsea well control systems
  • Monitor and troubleshoot turret/ swivel equipment
  • Carry out well performance testing
  • Perform process plant, Central Control Room and subsea systems start up and shut down operations
  • Assist in meeting of Production Objectives
  • Monitor communications and CCTV
  • Identify deviations from standard operating conditions and initiate corrective actions
  • Ensure CCR is kept tidy and in good order
  • Identify and report process plant and relevant utility systems maintenance requirements
  • Collect production figures data, perform calculations and prepare production reports
  • Maintain the discharges and emissions register
  • Liaise with other departments for coordination of operation activities
  • Perform production consumables stock control
  • Use the Computerised Maintenance Management System. Select and produce reports, update records, generate work orders
  • Take and report field readings ,prepare required reports, keep logs and maintain appropriate documentation;
  • Ensure that vendors and contractors are managed safely and effectively;
  • Undertake training relevant to the position requirements;
  • On-the-job-training of colleagues and trainees
  • Operate and monitor process plant and relevant utility systems in close cooperation with CRO/ Production Superintendent
  • Perform condition monitoring and troubleshooting of process plant and relevant utility systems. Report abnormalities
  • Monitor turret/ swivel equipment
  • Line up well streams
  • Operate and monitor chemical dosage rates and equipment;
  •  Perform process plant and subsea systems start up and shut down operations 
  •  Identify and report deviations from standard operating conditions 
  •  Identify and report process plant and relevant utility systems maintenance requirements 
  •  Assist in meeting of Production Objectives 
  •  Perform housekeeping and waste collection and processing for process plant. Ensure cleanliness is maintained
  • Liaise with other departments for coordination of operation activities 
  • Perform process plant first line and preventive maintenance activities as per  Computerized Maintenance Management System


Accompanying this technical knowledge applicants also need to be experienced in:

  • Permit to Work systems, Operating procedures and Work instructions.
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills with strong commitment to health and safety
  • Enchem Level 4 Process Operation or Equivalent Qualification
  • Member of Emergency Response Team and required to pass the ERT Step Test
  • BOSIET/FOET preferred
