Hearing Nelson is a not for profit organisation that provides advice, support and education for people with hearing loss. We are looking for someone who is flexible, has good communication skills and a team player in a new role that has been established to provide extra staffing to our busy office team.
The role is 6.5 hours per week (one day - flexible) and initially will be spent in the office learning the office routine. In 2020 the hours will be split between the office and working in resthomes looking after residents hearing aids.
The resthome service is one of our most successful, with the residents, their whanau and the staff all very appreciative of the work we do keeping residents hearing aids working. Each resthome is visited once a month by a fieldworker.
Full training will be given in hearing aid care and maintenance although some knowledge of hearing aids and hearing loss would be an advantage. The successful applicant must be comfortable working in the resthome environment, have their own car and at a minimum a restricted drivers licence.
Experience in the following is preferred:
Customer service and reception
Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word processing and Excel spreadsheets.
Plus those other skills to keep an office running on a day to day basis
