The Hurunui District Council is looking for a Youth Mega Star to develop and deliver a youth led programme of recreation, education, cultural and leadership opportunities, activities and events for Hurunui Youth.
The purpose of this new permanent role is to develop and deliver the Hurunui Youth Programme (HYP) and provide officer support for the Hurunui Youth Council (HYC) in line with the Hurunui Youth Strategy 2018.
You will develop and deliver a youth led programme of recreation, education, cultural and leadership opportunities, activities and events to improve service outcomes for Hurunui Youth.
An understanding of the principles of Youth Development is critical in this exciting role.
You will possess a tertiary qualification in youth work, social work, education or other relevant subject. Five years' experience in youth work, community development or related area is required. The ability to foster solid relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including community groups and funding agencies will be highly regarded.
The position is based in our Amberley office, 35 minutes north of Christchurch and the entrance to the Waipara wine growing region and our award winning Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa.
