Community Programmes & Partnerships Lead

With one of our valued team taking on a new opportunity, we are looking for a people-person, ready to lead out programmes and services to support Central Hawke’s Bay to Thrive!

The Community Programmes & Partnerships Lead is an exciting role promoting the love of reading and literacy in the widest sense, through programmes and activities to the Central Hawke’s Bay Community, as part of our Library Services Team.

Change your perceptions of dusty library roles – this exciting role is anything but!   While you’ll be leading the delivery of programmes our community have come to love and expect from our library services, with a clear strategy now in place, this role will be facilitating and enabling passionate individuals, groups and organisations in our community to share their skills and capabilities to unlock our communities social and economic well-being potential.

From encouraging communities on how to compost, sew, 3D print, start new businesses, diversifying our economy and supporting community well-being - no two days will ever be the same!

We are keen to hear from people who have had successful experience in the planning and delivery of services, in either community, education or recreation services, although having library experience would be helpful.

You will have at least 3-4 years post qualification experience and will be used to balancing different priorities at once.  The ability to build strong and effective community partnerships with volunteers and community organisations will be essential for this role, to understand how library programmes support the delivery of Council and community action plans and aspirations – including solid waste, 3 waters, animal services, youth, positive aging and economic well-being and tourism strategies.

This is a very exciting and unique opportunity for the right person to gain a step up in the industry or to use your experience and knowledge to make a tangible difference for our community, working to lead out a significant change for our community.

Importantly, this full-time role like all other Library roles will be expected to work Saturdays plus out of hours on occasion, and undertake all day-to-day operational tasks expected of any other Library Service team member. This role will be involved in actively marketing and promoting library services in Central Hawkes Bay.

If you think you might be the person we’re looking for, apply in confidence with your CV and Cover Letter via Seek. Applications close Sunday 15 September 2019.
