Assistant Project Manager

Assist in the management of high density, volume builds in East and South Auckland. Put your trade or tertiary background to good use.   

About the role

In this role you will be working along side Project Managers to ensure the safe and smooth running of high quality, High density and volume residential builds to ensure projects are on time and budget. On a daily basis you will be ensuring the general health and safety on site, through reviewing Site Specific Safety Plans (SSSP), organising prestart and toolbox talks on sites and in general maintaining a positive health and Safety culture. This is a great opportunity to gain some solid experience with an established company with a great reputation for quality.   

Duties

  • Establish compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Request, review and approve SSSP’s
  • Organise inductions and weekly health and safety inspections
  • Create construction schedules
  • Weekly tracking against Project schedule
  • Liaising with Quantity Surveyors monthly to assess and certify claims
  • Host prestart and subcontractor meetings
  • Work with councils through inspections
  • Communicate variation orders to subcontractors and suppliers 
  • Facilitate client handover

Skills and experience

This role is open to candidates with a relevant trade or tertiary background at varying levels of experience. To be suitable for this role you will need:  

  • Relevant Construction/Project Management qualifications or Trade background
  • Full class 1 Driver licence
  • Experience on site for Volume Build or High Density
  • Confident with Microsoft Excel and Project
  • Be driven and motivated
  • An intelligent problem solver
