The Company

The New Zealand Institute of Health and Fitness (NZIHF) is the leading provider of Personal Training education nationwide.  Now over a decade young, NZIHF has grown from two staff and a tiny campus in 2006 to 7 campuses, over 30 full time staff, and in excess of 800 students. NZIHF's journey has made it the single biggest and most focused supplier of Personal Training talent to the fitness industry.

NZIHF is still growing too.  With new regions opening up, a campus in Sydney, and the launch of our professional workshop series for qualified trainers, the right people find opportunities to develop at NZIHF.

You’ll be based at our Auckland CBD campus working with local students to make them great graduates for nearby fitness enterprises and their members. All campuses have a ‘skills centre’ (teaching gym), large classroom, kitchen area and offices.

Why NZIHF exists

NZIHF provide a uniquely open and honest company environment with lots of opportunity for everyone to learn, contribute and grow.  NZIHF follow a philosophy that business is an extension of being human, and that the experience of working should be enjoyable, challenging and fulfilling.  If you are looking for a place to make a difference and a place to have a laugh whilst earning well - NZIHF could be for you.

The Role

As a salesperson you will work closely with our call team around your availability and the business demands.

You will meet and engage with potential students and become the final step in their enrolment process into our Personal Training Courses. This will include assessing their competency to successfully undertake and complete the courses on offer and matching their study needs to our programme.

Key responsibilities include:

- Working with our call teams to schedule enrolment appointments

- Getting to know the prospective student, their goals, and selling them the best course for their needs.

- Completing enrolment administration promptly and accurately so the student can get started on their learning.

The Person

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes, qualifications and experience:

  • A history of success within a sales focused role in fitness and/or fitness education
  • A passion to help up and coming personal trainers get started
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to work closely with others to achieve outcomes
  • Be comfortable with using computers, software, online platforms and scanners.
  • Experience and/or qualifications in adult education and training may be an advantage.

The bottom line

NZIHF will continue to change the world of fitness education.  In doing that, NZIHF makes a difference in the lives of graduates, their clients, NZIHF staff, and the health of New Zealanders.  Being part of NZIHF means being a significant part of that effort.
