Environmental Coordinator, Takapuna North.

Part time, 15 hours per week (flexible hours, some evening and weekend work may be required occasionally)

Are you passionate about connecting people with the environment? Do you have hands on experience designing and delivering pest control and restoration programmes and with working within a community and inspiring people to take action? If so, we invite you to apply for our Environmental Coordinator role at Takapuna North Community Trust; a community-based organisation committed to supporting and engaging communities at a local level in Takapuna North (Hauraki Corner to Sunnynook, east of State Highway 1).

This role is a unique opportunity for an inspiring and engaging individual to coordinate a local pest free and restoration plan in line with the goals of Pest Free Auckland 2050.

You will have experience in data management, information sharing, pest monitoring and general pest control and environmental restoration best practice as well as the ability to support and engage with local residents, community groups and volunteers in local parks and reserves.

You will work with existing volunteer groups to support them in their activities and will also assist local residents to understand how they can actively participate in pest control to increase backyard biodiversity; as well as supporting the development of environmental restoration and pest control initiatives.

Through these activities you will work to create strong relationships and networks that will coordinate environmental restoration and pest control efforts across both public and private land. You will be part of a team who are passionate about working with people, and an organisation with a strong reputation for high quality work.

This is a part time flexible role that includes evening and weekend work. It is a contract position for 12 months but may be extended if funding is available.
