Technical Customer Support Agent - Opportunity to live and work overseas

  • Want to work for a small business that's growing internationally?
  • Are you looking at starting your OE soon and want to secure work before you go?
  • Do you have great trouble shooting skills and enjoy delivering excellence?

We have a Technical Customer Support Agent role with WhosOnLocation located just on the fringes of the CBD with an opportunity to live and work in the US, UK or EU after six months.

About the role

This role is perfect for someone wanting to start their OE and continue to work while you do so. You will be responsible for delivering front-line support to our EU and US customers through email, phone, chat and social media to provide technical support. The work hours and location are somewhat flexible but will ideally cover UMT 11am - UMT 8pm (night shift 12am-9am NZST) and ideally you will want to be based in the US, UK or EU in six months time.

You're a great match if you enjoy delivering excellence, possess fantastic trouble-shooting skills and have the ability to dive deep into a new product and learn it inside out. You'll need to speak both tech and plain English and be able to jump from one to the other with ease. You'll be part of our front-line technical support team working directly with customers to resolve their technical issues.

The ideal person

WhosOnLocation want someone who is self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working autonomously. You'll enjoy working in a small team of like-minded people from around the world and words like Terminal, SSH, Grep and Git are all words you understand. This role would suit a developer who loves to have contact with our customers.

To be successful you will have the following:

  • Ideally five years experience in a front-line customer service role
  • Ability to embower end-users to support themselves using our knowledge base
  • Experience using Zendesk or another web based customer support tool
  • A strong sense of urgency
  • Overall high level knowledge of web based technologies
  • Superb communication and organisational skills
  • A desire to learn, master and teach and be a team player
  • Experience and understanding of third-party API's and web services
  • Basic understanding of SQL databases
  • Programming experience in at least one web-based language (PHP is a big plus)

What's in it for you?

  • Outstanding remuneration package
  • Learning and development
  • Free fruit
  • Coffee machine
  • Dedicated community support programme
  • Internal recognition awards
  • Great team environment with colleagues from all around the world

This role is being managed by HainesAttract - All applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
