Are you a motivated Speech-Language Therapist who enjoys technology and wants to join a specialist team?
The TalkLink Trust is currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced Speech-Language Therapists who have, or who wish to gain, advanced skills in the area of assistive technology.
We have a permanent full-time position available based in Wellington. Consideration may also be given to a part time role for a suitable applicant.
The TalkLink Trust provides specialist services in Assistive Technology/Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) throughout New Zealand. TalkLink works with both adults and children who experience difficulty with spoken and/or written communication.
If you are interested in technology and are seeking a rewarding role within a fun team, then this position could be for you. The successful applicant will work as a member of a highly skilled inter-disciplinary team with a focus on assessment and training.
A degree in Speech-Language Therapy, or equivalent qualification is required, together with at least 2 years experience working as a Speech-Language Therapist. Ministry of Health Communication Assistive Technology Level 1 or 2 assessor credentialing, or experience in the area of assistive technology is preferred but not essential. You will need to be comfortable working with computer-based technology and on the job training and support will be provided.
Regular regional travel is necessary so applicants must have a full NZ driver’s license. Out of town travel will also be required once you become familiar with the role, so applicants will need to be available for occasional overnight stays.
