ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

As part of SGS New Zealand’s Shared Services division, the Human Resources function has a pivotal role in ensuring SGS NZ has a diverse, capable, engaged and high performing workforce to address the changing needs of our customers today and in the future. A rare opportunity has arisen for a proactive and capable HR Business Partner who is looking to gain hands-on experience and develop their career within a diverse global organisation.

 

THE ROLE

You will form part of a close knit, committed and collaborative HR team where you will work with General Managers, senior people managers, team supervisors and other key internal stake holders. You will also liaise with various functions globally and our wider HR team located within the South East Asia Pacific (SEAP) region and at our headquarters in Geneva Switzerland.  

Your primary role is to provide generalist support, solutions and advice to the business and HR team at an operational and strategic level, giving effect to the NZ Strategic Plan. You will partner with designated business lines working across the full generalist spectrum. You will also work with the wider team on specific HR projects. 

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years business partner experience
  • Sound ER/ IR capability (experience with Unions) and good working knowledge of NZ Employment legislation
  • Well-developed communication and influencing skills
  • Tactical and strategic ability
  • Solutions focused with pragmatic commercial outlook
  • Excellent relationship builder and ability to work effectively at all levels, with corporate functions and site operational teams
  • Highly organised and efficient
  • Team player but works autonomously with ease
  • Sense of humour – we like to get things done but have fun!
  • High degree of personal integrity
  • Travel is required nationally (dependent on business line needs)
