About the role

We are looking for an architectural technician/documenter with a minimum of 4 years experience working in New Zealand.  You need to be self-motivated and able to work independently on commercial projects - predominantly in hospitality.

Restaurant design/documentation experience is a must and experience across a wide range of commercial and high end residential projects as well would be highly regarded.

You will be required to work as part of a small team, and at times independently. You will be given projects to document from concept design to building consent and construction. We currently use Vectorworks and/or Autocad but at the moment have some flexibility in the software we use. You will deal directly with consultants and council and manage site works when needed.

You will also be required at times to put together concept design packages including 3d renders.

Because of the nature of the studio there maybe other aspects of projects where you will be asked to assist at times - installations and project administration for example. This is first and foremost a technician role but flexibility is key.

Skills and experience

Documenting full commercial and residential projects for building consent.

Excellent CAD skills in either Vectorworks, Autocad or Revit.

A sound understanding of construction methodology and building code compliance.

A genuine interest in creatively resolving technical details and the way in which buildings are put together.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

4 years relevant experience in New Zealand.

Flexible in nature with the ability to work both independently and as part of our small team.

New Zealand Diploma in Architectural Technology, Bachelor Degree in Architecture or equivalent, recognised qualification from a reputable institution.
