Mexteds Performance Sports Surfaces is growing and we’re looking for a Sports Turf Specialist and a Sports Turf Operator to join our operations team.

Sports Turf Specialist Role:

This role would ideally suit someone with several years’ experience in the sports turf sector, who is looking to take the next step in their career.

The role is varied and includes general sports turf maintenance, irrigation, cricket wicket and softball renovations and preparation, topdressing and fertiliser application, decompaction, scarification, synthetic turf maintenance and line marking.

As part of this role, you will have leadership of a small team that will primarily be undertaking our maintenance-based contract in the Hutt Valley. You will have direct responsibility for day-to-day operations and liaison with clients and sports clubs.

Ideally you’ll hold a Level 4 Sports Turf qualification, and as a minimum must have a Class 1 licence with WTRF endorsements.

You’ll strive for excellence in your work and be a great communicator, with the ability to build good working relationships with our clients and the rest of the Mexteds’ team.

You’ll be a self-starter who uses initiative, solves problems, accepts responsibility, can meet deadlines and has a drive for self-development. You’ll take pride in your work, including record keeping and health and safety requirements, be adaptable and have the ability to lead others to get the job done.

Sports Turf Operator Role:

This entry-level role would ideally suit someone who is mechanically-minded and who loves working outdoors. You will be operating our tractor and Pegasus unit, out-front mowers and doing some amenity mowing.

The operator role will work closely with the specialist role to deliver the requirements of our Hutt Valley maintenance contract.

You will be a versatile team player who can pick up skills quickly to assist in covering other sports field maintenance tasks, when required.

You’ll hold a Class 1 licence with WTRF endorsements, and preferably Class 2. Mexteds will also offer training to maximise your tractor operating capability with our other specialised implements.

Mexteds is an innovative, leading sports turf company with a long history of offering quality service to our clients at and a supportive working environment for our staff, with opportunities for training and development as well as industry networking.

Please email your CV to Shane Maddren at shane@mexteds.co.nz.  Applications close Sunday, 25 August 2019.
