We are looking to fill the role of Systems Administrator in our busy IT team. Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, this role is varied and sometimes challenging but very rewarding for the right person. There is a focus on getting the right systems in place and a lot of project work waiting for the right person. No day is a dull day!

This role will suit someone with 5+ years practical experience in a medium-large corporate environment managing systems, physical and virtual.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Administration of Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure and VMware vSphere systems to Office 365 and Hybrid Exchange setups.
  • Maintain security (Trend Micro and Firepower firewall), backup systems (Veeam Back and Replication) and DR redundancy systems (Hosted with TIMG).
  • Shared services to support all users as and when required.
  • Troubleshoot and discover opportunities to future proof and refine the business offerings.
  • Work with the IT Infrastructure Manager to align business systems with business values.
  • Upgrades, migrations and solution designs.
  • SharePoint management and upgrade planning with external vendor.
  • SQL management.

What will allow you to succeed in this role?

  • 5+ years’ experience in a medium to large corporate environment.
  • SQL administration and maintenance very desirable.
  • Networking skills with exposure to Cisco systems (Firepower and AnyConnect VPN advantageous).
  • Security best practises (Trend Micro knowledge advantageous).
  • Skilled in diagnosing and trouble shooting.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Problem solving skills and a high degree of initiative.
  • Ability to think clearly under pressure and always take the initiative but be a team player.
  • Industry certifications – ITIL, CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, tertiary training are very advantageous.
  • Create ongoing positive relationships with staff and suppliers.
