Technical Support Draughtsperson

APL is the market leader of window and doors systems in New Zealand. Recognised for our pioneering and innovative approach, we provide an end to end service for our customers in the New Zealand building industry.


Together, our family of companies have grown to become New Zealand’s foremost window supplier, offering a range of residential and commercial window systems. We maintain a major design, production and warehousing facility developing, extruding, surface finishing and distributing profiles to over 70 manufacturers around the country. An opportunity now exists for a competent Technical Support person to join our team.  


Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, your main responsibilities will include:

Assisting in the draughting of technical details for window fabricators and architects.

  • Production of manufacturing drawings
  • Creating Manufacturing Animations
  • Creating and updating the library of Revit files
  • Providing Technical advice on products or assisting with support queries   
To be successful in this role, you must have the following skills and abilities:

  • A strong proficiency in using AutoCAD
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • A good knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD programmes such as AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS and Revit
  • An interest in developing your skills in Animation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • A knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and standards pertaining to the industry
  • A knowledge of the window and door industry is advantageous
You must be self-disciplined, motivated and have a proven eye for detail. You will also be able to work to deadlines and enjoy working as part of a team.
