Mechanical Engineer

Our client is a manufacturer and supplier of newsprint, and book paper products to publishers and print media organisations in New Zealand and overseas. They run an entirely virgin fibre mill using sustainably managed plantation radiata pine. Annual paper production is up to 150,000 tonnes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of Mill plant & equipment
  • Identifying, scoping, designing and implementing mechanical projects
  • Ensuring installation standards are met
  • Compliance with regulatory and legal requirements,
  • Development of best practice methods for project work
  • Providing mechanical engineering & technical advice
  • Supervision of external and internal contractors

To be successful in this role your will require the following knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • CPEng or actively working towards accreditation (preferred)
  • Practical knowledge heavy industrial process equipment
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements and codes of compliance
  • Experience in a manufacturing/heavy process environment
  • Project Management skills and experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and abilities
  • Good communication skills (both written & oral)
  • Positive attitude, work ethic & a team player.
