Assistant Contract Manager

As Assistant Contract Manager you will provide management of specific operations in the department, deliver on contract requirements, optimize resource use and achieve target results.  In addition, you will assist in the development and implementation of plans and procedures to ensure the profitable and viable growth of all Contracts to achieve business plan promises, return on assets and cash requirements.

Ultimately you will be responsible to plan and direct operations to achieve above requirements, build client relations and maintain all Safety, Environmental and Quality assurance systems.

What we are looking for…

  • Desirable to hold a tertiary engineering qualification with a minimum of five years’ working experience in project management/engineering experience in asphalt and or sealing operations.
  • High level communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to influence with demonstrated leadership behaviours that empower others
  • Ability to interrogate SOR / Contract documents and utilize to the benefit of the contracts.
  • The ability to think outside the box and innovate, enabling improvement to the service to mutual benefit of all stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing long term and short term contracts, working within and meeting deadlines.
  • Understanding of financial and accounting processes, to include preparation of progress and claim reports and producing and interpreting monthly financial reports to P&L level.
  • Negotiation and management of ongoing change.
  • Previous experience in improving and maintaining communication in all forms with the client and with liaison with all stakeholders and the public.
  • Previous experience in compliance with Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental policies.

Beside the above you will have the ability to work autonomously with excellent Computer literacy and previous use of estimating and data collection software.
