Assistant Project Manager - Auckland, New Zealand


About the role

At Coffey, the role of Assistant Project Manager is to undertake and assist with the supervised management of the planning, coordination and delivery of all aspects of project within the terms of Coffey Projects obligations.

To play your part you are expected to develop your understanding of Coffey’s value proposition and our target markets and grow your professional project management skills under the leadership of our skilled specialists.   This role offers hands on project management experience in a solution focused and continuous improvement environment. 

As a Coffey ambassador, you are expected to develop positive internal and external relationships, demonstrate collaborative teamwork skills and approach challenging problems with resolution and actively embrace our values: Do the right thing, Explore new ideas, Collaborate and share knowledge and Ensure individual and team wellbeing.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will have:

    • Successfully completed or progress towards a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
    • Ideally one to three years’ experience in contract and/or project administration
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • High level of computer literacy (Microsoft Suite essential)
    • Exposure to technical report and presentation writing would be well regarded
    • Enthusiastic and possess a reputation for great time management 


About you

To play your part, you’ll need to deliver on these key result areas:

  • Follow HSSE processes and display positive HSSE behaviours to reduce the impact of incidents
  • Work with project teams to develop experience in the project management competency elements and application of project management knowledge
  • Develop experience and understanding of the financial drivers of a consulting business
  • Support Project Managers to manage project scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, procurement and integration to achieve client and project objectives.
  • Be an ambassador for Coffey in the market, promote our interests and reputation
  • Follow our policies and code of conduct and embrace all Coffey systems and system initiatives.
  • Preparedness to work some out of hours when required
