Glen Dimplex New Zealand is part of the Glen Dimplex Group which was founded in 1973. Now considered the world's largest electrical heating business holding significant market positions in the domestic appliance industry worldwide. With a group annual turnover of equivalent NZ$3.6B, the Group employs over 10,000 people worldwide.

The Glen Dimplex Group has a policy of continuous investment in building brands, constant product innovation, and providing customers with quality products. With a manufacturing base in Tamaki, Auckland, the New Zealand business is the largest wood fire manufacturer in Australasia producing Masport wood fires for the domestic and export markets. The Group’s other domestic appliance brands include Dimplex, Belling and Morphy Richards.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer – Australia, the Managing Director, New Zealand will lead all business, distribution/supply chain, manufacturing and staff within New Zealand. This position requires a broadly experienced commercial general manager and leader with proven sales and marketing expertise.

The Managing Director, New Zealand will be a significant leader in the commercial development of the New Zealand operations. As a ‘House of Brands’, the ability to implement multiple marketing strategies whilst operating various service lines will be crucial. Equally, the capacity to build relationships and communicate effectively with various suppliers, distributors and customers will be critical.

You will have the capacity to influence and inspire staff, promoting a culture that supports ongoing evolution of capability and performance. In addition you will have advanced relationship skills to effectively engage with the wider commercial industry. To be credible, you will offer:

  • Established and successful commercial track record with a strong distribution focus, ideally with alignment to the consumer,  hardware and specifier environment;
  • Prior experience in developing new marketing and sales, brand strategies;
  • An ability to identify opportunities to maximise and improve performance to meet customer needs whilst achieving business plan and financial targets;
  • Capacity to further build Glen Dimplex’s New Zealand brand and value proposition, through client and revenue growth;
  • A background in manufacturing environments would be advantageous however not essential.
