Maintenance Engineer

The Maintenance engineer is to ensure minimum downtime or disruption to processing by carrying out all repairs, preventative and general maintenance as required in a cost-effective and timely manner.

Description

  • Inspect machine performance, compare to historical & manufacturer’s specifications, liaise with production, diagnose problems & potential for improvement, recommend and upon approval, implement.
  • Optimized plant performance to enhance plant safety as per industrial best practices, product quality as per customer needs and throughput quantity. Plant work orders are completed promptly & recorded electronically.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance inspections; lubrication so that potential mechanical/electrical problems are identified early and remedial action is taken to prevent/avoid unnecessary downtime from occurring
  • Carry out preventative maintenance as directed.
  • Plant scheduled activities are completed when scheduled, schedules are updated to meet plant changing needs, plant maintenance documentation is completed & up-to date via PC.





Profile

• At least 5 year's experience working in this role or similar
• A relevant Trade Qualification / Registration / Trade Certificate in a Mechanical Engineering field to a minimum of Level 4
• Sound knowledge of EHS, Food Safety, Quality required
• Experience in computerised maintenance management systems
• Maintenance reliability and asset care skills with failure analysis knowledge
• Basic electrical knowledge
• Ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised
• Good communication and inter-personal skills
• Keen ability to learn new skills with ease
• Time management
• Customer relations
• General computer literacy
