Community Support Worker - School Holiday Programme - Wellington

Our school holiday program, held at Knox Church Kindy, is all about fun activities in a safe and positive environment.

As a Support Worker on our School Holiday Programme, you will be part of a vibrant team who are dedicated to creating and maintaining a safe, secure and healthy space, where children with an intellectual disability can spend time in the holidays. Reporting to the Programme Leader, you will work with the child to ensure they are safe and having fun.

These are fixed term contracts of a variety of shifts, covering two consecutive weeks- Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm, 30 Sept -11 October.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a great communicator
  • Have plenty of stamina!
  • Be empathic and intuitive- able to interpret, anticipate and intervene to keep children safe and happy
  • Have some experience with children and/or people with disabilities
  • Be willing to support children with their personal cares, such as bathing, dressing and toileting
