Executive Producer, Checkpoint

This role is crucial in developing and leading our multimedia news and current affairs afternoon programme Checkpoint.

Checkpoint is committed to breaking stories, indepth journalism, delving deep into stories and connecting with the New Zealanders behind those stories.

You will have a journalism qualification with a multimedia background and experience managing a team.

You will lead a small hard-working Checkpoint team of multi-media creative journalists who strive every day to set the news agenda whilst also moving stories forward.

You'll also have experience lining up a programme from the studio, experience handling breaking news and from time to time breaking news programme specials.

You'll work collaboratively with the wider RNZ team to engage New Zealanders to build Checkpoint's profile across radio, online and through social media.

The position is based in Auckland.
