We're looking for a

Administration Assistant, Operating Room - Ascot Hospital

Are you an experienced Administrator, who has strong experience in the Healthcare/Medical industry and is looking to make the move to a large private surgical facility? Come work with MercyAscot Hospitals - one of New Zealand's leading providers of health services.

This varied and busy role is a vital part of our Theatre Team. You will be the welcoming face of the department, providing excellent customer care for our patients and their families. You will work closely with our managers and clinical staff ensuring bookings and documentations are dealt with in a timely manner, whilst delivering exceptional end to end administrative support.

This role will offer you the ability to make a difference, be people focussed and take responsibility for the work you do. You will have the support of a friendly, positive team who deliver the best possible care. Our culture and values are embraced and reflected in everything we do to create a positive difference. This is permanent part-time opportunity (24 hours per week) working flexible rostered shifts between the hours of 7am to 5pm, across Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the role include:

  • Provides outstanding customer service at all times to all customers in person and over the phone
  • Maintains and develops positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • General administrative duties including data entry, meeting minutes and accurate processing of documentation
  • Liaises with all clinical staff within the department

Our preferred candidates will have:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in administration and reception preferably in the healthcare/medical environment
  • Strong understanding of customer service and enjoy interacting with people from different backgrounds
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Good communication skills, using initiative and respecting patient privacy and confidentiality requirements in a hospital
  • Ability to work independently, prioritising workload, managing your time and remaining calm under pressure
  • A professional attitude and great attention to detail which in turn will drive efficiencies
  • Friendly, proactive, energetic and a 'can do' attitude
  • Proficient computer skills (skills testing will be part of the recruitment process)
  • Decision making and problem solving skills
  • Enjoy working in a diverse environment
  • The ability to work as a valuable team member
