The opportunity

We currently have 2 fantastic opportunities for an Assistant Underwriter to join our Financial Lines team in Auckland on a 12 month fixed-term contract and a Permanent role, where you will be supporting a team of Underwriters.

We are seeking a well organised person who can work collaboratively within a team and develop strong relationships with our broker clients.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in client service, administration and the drive to work as part of a high performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in auto renewals, fast track renewals and premiums
  • You will be working closely with Underwriters and brokers
  • Administrative duties and tasks as required
  • Responding to enquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Develop and share knowledge of broker processes and procedures to strengthen our service delivery
  • Support underwriters with new business and renewals
  • Positively contributing to the profitable growth of QBE's portfolio
  • Relationship development with brokers
  • Ownership of and involvement in team projects as require

What does success look like?

We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual to support our high performing team, you will receive on the job training for this role.

  • Relevant experience in the insurance industry is desirable but not necessary
  • Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Outlook
  • An ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
  • A passion for personal development
  • Excellent communication skills, problem-solving and process improvement experience
  • Relevant insurance or tertiary qualifications (desirable)
