He angitūtanga: The opportunity
It's a big year for events in Auckland! We're on the hunt for an enthusiastic individual to join our fun Events Facilitation team within The Arts, Community and Events (ACE) group. We work closely with communities to support and permit events that connect and strengthen our communities. We're passionate about supporting events that contribute to a sense of belonging and pride in our communities.
As the Event Facilitator, you'll support local boards and community groups to successfully permit events on public open space by coordinating and processing events applications and funding. You'll be responsible for the full life-cycle of events permits; ensuring all groups have the appropriate consents, assessing and issuing events permits and monitoring events to ensure regulatory compliance. You'll also be the central contact point for local boards and the wider community for advice on the availability and allocation of funding and assist with assessing and processing funding applications.
He kōrero mōu: About you
In this exciting, fast-paced role you'll have regular contact with event stakeholders, so you'll need to be a strong relationship builder and an excellent communicator, with previous experience in relationship management. You'll be able to easily build rapport with a range of people and have a strong focus on customer service. You'll also be process orientated, organised and methodical in your approach, but also able to manage ambiguity when it arises.
Ideally, you'll have a tertiary qualification in events, at least two years' experience working in local government and/or previous exposure to an events environment and a full driver's license. A good understanding and appreciation of the complexities and functions of local government will be advantageous.
Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer
This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in the events industry and gain a valuable understanding of events regulatory requirements. You'll be welcomed into a diverse, fun and social team who work together and enjoy what they do. If you're motivated and interested in working in the events environment, there'll be plenty of opportunities to develop and learn from an experienced team who are happy to share their knowledge and experience.
If this sounds like your next opportunity, then apply now!
As part of Auckland Council drug and alcohol policy pre-employment checks, you will be subject to drug, alcohol and police screening.
Applications close 25th of August 2019
