Mary Potter Hospice provides free palliative care for the people of the Wellington Region. We have an Inpatient Unit, and a strong Community team. We take a multi-disciplinary approach in order to provide holistic care for our patients and whānau.
We are currently recruiting for a motivated and experienced person to join the Day Services team as Community Volunteer Lead. This role will manage and co-ordinate the Clinical Service Volunteers across the community supporting patients and whānau in their homes while integrating a Compassionate Communities approach.
We are looking for an experienced leader, preferably with community health or volunteer experience. You will have strong co-ordination and relationship management skills to manage the assignment of volunteers to patients and families in their homes.
You will manage change and continue to develop the new volunteer roles to meet the needs of our community. Experience of healthcare or palliative care would be desirable. Sound organisational planning and implementation skills and an understanding of and commitment to the multidisciplinary team approach to patient care are essential.
