Available positions:


General Duties & Maintenance Worker

As a General Duties & Maintenance worker, your role is to do general maintenance and repairs onsite, as well as assist with capital development and harvest where/when required.

Your key tasks and responsibilities are to:

  • Make minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs
  • Maintain buildings, grounds and equipment
  • Assist with tunnel infrastructure and crop maintenance
  • *Forklift licence is desirable


As a cleaner, your role is to maintain the stock and cleanliness of facility areas of offices, restrooms, wash stations etc. on a set cleaner roster and plan.

Your key tasks and responsibilities are to:

  • Dust, sweep, vacuum, mop, polish etc.

Administration & Harvest Assistant

As an Administration & Harvest Assistant, your role is to assist in all aspects associated with administration duties and harvest when/where required.

Your key tasks and responsibilities are to:

  • Ensure rosters are being set and followed, and no-show lists are presented to management
  • Ensure staff barcodes are readily available
  • Assist HR Manager with recruitment, onboarding, and training processes
  • Aid in cool room operations when required
  • Oversee harvest crew to ensure they are following procedures and reaching targets
  • Ensure correct packing and labeling of fruit
  • Record and report any issues

Harvest Operator

As a Harvest Operator, your role is to ensure all harvesting equipment including packaging is readily available prior to harvest each morning and .packed/stored properly post harvest each day.

Your key tasks and responsibilities are to:

  • Liase with cool-room staff and Harvest Supervisors on requirements
  • Remove waste and rubbish from field/bins
  • Use machinery to move fruit from the field tp the cool-room
  • Organise packaging, crates, pallets and harvest supplies and equipment
  • Assist in cool-room operations, site maintenance and cleanliness
  • Ensure picked berries are packed and labeled correctly
  • Perform regular quality control inspections of berries and packaging
  • Report any issues (weeds, water, pests etc.) to management
  • Ensure all harvesting equipment is functioning and working at optimum conditions
  • *Forklift licence is desirable

Harvest Supervisor

As a Harvest Supervisor & Assistant, your role is to supervise and assist with all aspects associated with the pick and pack of berries. This includes ensuring harvest crew are reaching their set targets.

Your key tasks and responsibilities are to:

  • Oversee harvest crew and ensure all members are following safety procedures
  • Have the ability to discern what issues need to be brought to upper management
  • Aid in the training of new picking staff
  • Aim to reach harvest targets on a daily, weekly and monthly level
  • Perform regular quality control inspections of berries
  • Motivate picking crew to reach set targets
  • Communicate any quality issues to Harvest Manager
  • Ensure each crew member under your supervision is completing tasks to a standard
  • Ensure that all harvesting equipment is functioning properly and working at optimum conditions
  • Have 1+ years experience in the leadership role. This is an advantage
  • Have 1+ years’ experience in the role / industry. This is an advantage

Harvest Staff

As a Harvest Staff, your role is to pick and pack berries to the quality and quantity standards stipulated by the management of Kaipaki Berries.

Your key tasks and responsibilities are to:

  • Pick and pack berries into punnets then check weighed and lidded to specification

Growing Assistant

As a Growing Assistant, your role is to assist with all aspects associated with growing. This includes but not limited to implementing growing practices that result in high quality product, plant health and desired volumes.

Your key tasks and responsibilities are to:

  • Check plant health and quality
    • Pollination, plant diseases and pests
    • Ensure crops meet quality specifications
    • Conduct crop walks of all areas, record and report crop situations
    • Implement and maintain hygiene programme across all the growing areas
  • Ensure staff understand the cleaning standards for growing areas
  • Ensure there is an up to date fertiliser mixture recipe, maintain tidiness of fertiliser rooms, and understand fertiliser requirements in order to purchase accurately in advance
  • Assist in general tunnel work
  • Have 1+ years’ experience in the role / industry. This is an advantage

You will have / be:

  • Drivers licence is desirable

  • Able to follow instructions; learn and apply new processes quickly
  • Able to measure and calculate trays/pallets
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Physically fit and energetic with a friendly positive attitude
  • Hard working and reliable with attention to detail and accuracy
