Communications Lead - Ocean Science

Do you want to join a highly-regarded and well-resourced team communicating some of New Zealand's most important environmental science?

NIWA is New Zealand's leading provider of climate, freshwater and ocean research and policy and management advice.

This role is part of the Communications & Marketing team and provides strategic communications advice and services to the science teams within NIWA's oceans platform, which includes Coasts & Oceans, Fisheries and Aquaculture. We're looking for an experienced all-rounder to lead the platform communications, working with highly productive teams of scientists and communications professionals.

You will have seven to 10 years' experience in senior communications & marketing roles and will have executed successful communications for large organisations. You will be an excellent writer and able to communicate with a wide range of audiences using a variety of channels. Experience working within the science/government sector would be an advantage, and an interest in our fascinating subject matter is a must.
