People and Culture Systems Specialist

As our Systems Specialist we guarantee to challenge and stimulate your thinking, grow you as a systems specialist and provide you with life experiences some people can only dream about!

Although we are a 24/7 operation with over 550 permanent staff, the System Specialist role is Monday to Friday and offers a competitive remuneration package including company bonus scheme, Southern Cross medical insurance for yourself and a discounted rate for your partner and children, professional development and a free travel service to site from Dunedin and Oamaru (with stops along the way).

The role

Based at our corporate office in Dunedin with regular travel to the Macraes Operation in East Otago (where the P&C team are based) you will be reporting to the People and Culture Manager and working alongside a passionate and committed team to deliver professional and proactive advice and support service to the Macraes Operation.

You will lead and implement the vision for a fully digital experience for people processes through providing technical and instructional support for the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and processes, including Success Factors.

Ensuring the HRIS delivers the functionality, quality and security required by the Macraes business unit and the P&C team including quality reporting.

Representing the Macraes Operation for OceanaGold NZ to Corporate HR and participate in planning for system upgrades and changes.

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • A degree in Information Technology (software), Business Administration or equivalent
  • Ideally three to five year's experience with IT systems and software
  • Highly proficient at Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent working knowledge of and experience in utilising databases and spreadsheets
  • Some project management experience
  • Some experience presenting, interpreting and analysing statistical data

You will be a solution focused team player able to work independently. A full, clean and current driving licence is essential, as is confidence driving a manual vehicle. You will need to be able to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing.
