Senior Human Resources Advisor

Contract: Permanent Full Time

The Role:

This position sits in the business within our clinical directorate HR team and is also part of the wider People and Capability Directorate. We work with our P&C colleagues across the business to develop and deliver organisation wide projects, policies and process improvement initiatives. 

This role provides expert advice and support to our Executive Director, Operations Managers and people leaders. We coach and mentor our people leaders to enable them to confidently and effectively self-lead and engage and motivate their teams.

Our organisation is going through a very exciting journey of cultural change. We are part way through a programme of work to refresh our organisational values and we are supporting our business though this. 

The environment is supportive and the work, though deeply complex and varied, is rewarding. Respect and kindness underpin everything we do. 

Your skills: 

Our style is customer focussed and solutions driven. We want our HR practitioners to be innovative, strategic, flexible, able to challenge/ influence and interested in continual learning and capability building. 

To be successful in this role you will need to truly partner with our business and understand its complexities and the varying demands being asked of our people. You should be a good relationship builder, networker and be able to adapt your style to suit our client base.

Your advice and support will be required at all stages across the employee life cycle, with particular emphasis on employment relations, performance management, employee engagement and remuneration/benefits. Success in this role means achieving positive outcomes for our employees, managers, the organisation, our patients and their whanau. 

This position can be extremely challenging yet rewarding - in an important and worthwhile sector. 

ABOUT OUR ORGANISATION 

Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region. CCDHB operates two hospitals – Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua – as well as the Kapiti Health Centre at Paraparaumu. 

The Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) spans three DHBs - Wairarapa, Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast DHB’s and includes local, regional, and national services. The local MHAIDS services are provided from multiple sites within the 3DHB sub-region – greater Wellington, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa.
